Vacation House
2021 / completed / 120 sq.m.
Located at the southern edge of Evia, this family vacation house overlooks the vast expanse of the Aegean Sea and is designed as a quiet retreat that harmonizes with its coastal surroundings. The architectural concept balances the simplicity and purity of Cycladic architecture with a contemporary, refined sensibility.
The plot opens generously toward the sea, allowing the house to embrace panoramic views and natural light. The layout and orientation of the building emphasize this relationship with the landscape, creating a seamless dialogue between interior spaces and the horizon beyond.
Formally, the project explores the interplay between curved surfaces and precise, sharp corners. These contrasting geometries produce a dynamic architectural language that bridges the tactile qualities of handmade construction with the clarity and precision of modern building techniques. The result is a composition that feels both timeless and contemporary—rooted in the traditions of the Greek islands while expressing a subtle, elegant modernity.
